It's a fairly simple process. If you want a same day appointment call early. If you want a routine appointment book it up for 4 weeks. If it's an emergency go to A&E. My experience with this practice is that they are thorough and professional and I would not hesitate to recommend them. Shame that they have patients who belive they need an emergency appointment for a cold!

Although there is usually a 4 to 6 week wait for appointments I can always manage to see a Dr on the same day (providing it's not on a Monday when they deal with emergencies) - Mondays and Fridays seem to be their busiest day. I have found reception/doctors and nurses very helpful. My recent visit the surgery prompted me to write this review. I had a routine appointment with the Nurse (non urgent and booked 4 weeks prior). My child was with me - i'd called to make him an appointment for a suspected infection but being a Monday was told to ring back the next day, I mentioned this to the nurse who confirmed it was an infection and on our way out spoke to a Dr who was happy to see him there and then and prescribed antibiotics. I really felt they went above and beyond for us.

I only like to see Dr Abela as he is very thorough. The rest of the Dr are not as patient. Especially Dr Grewal. He was not compassionate when I was explaining the issue my 6 weeks old baby had. I refuse to see him again. It's annoying that you can only get to booked an appointment 4 weeks ahead. I can only get an emergency appointment if I stress my issue. This is wrong. I would moved if there was another GP practice in Chafford Hundred. Some of the receptionists are always rude. They need customer service training.

They phone you up out of the blue to tell you they are no longer providing you with the medication which is keeping you alive.

You can try and get an emergency appt same day by calling at 8:30. But if you just need to see a Doctor about an on going issue, you're looking at 4 wks. I don't think this is acceptable, especially as you then probably need to wait atleast 6wks for a referral to the local hospital
